Η φοιτήτρια επέστρεφε με το αεροπλάνο από την περιοχή Anjajavy όπου είχε μεταβεί για έρευνα. Ωστόσο 10 λεπτά μετά την απογείωση, κάτω από αδιευκρίνιστες μέχρι στιγμή συνθήκες έπεσε από το αεροπλάνο!
Η αστυνομία ερευνά τα αίτια του δυστυχήματος αλλά και ψάχνει για το σώμα της άτυχης Alana, το οποίο ωστόσο ενδέχεται να μην βρεθεί ποτέ. κι αυτό γιατί στην περιοχή ζουν πολλά σαρκοφάγα ζώα, επομένως είναι πιθανόν να καταβροχθίσουν το πτώμα της.
